CHELATION THERAPY

Chelation Therapy

Chelation Therapy is the process of removing heavy metal toxins from the body using chelating agents that bind to heavy metals. These toxic metals accumulate in various parts of the body, especially inside the blood vessels.

Therefore, Chelation Therapy acts like a cleaning process for the blood vessels, keeping them in pristine condition. This helps improve blood circulation efficiency, allowing the body to be fully nourished and reducing the risk of serious diseases.

Chelation Therapy – A Detoxifying Aid to Remove Heavy Metals from the Body

หลอดเลือด

The term “chelation” originates from the Greek word “chele,” meaning a claw-like binding of an organic compound to positively charged metal molecules. The substances used to bind and remove heavy metals are called chelators. There are several types of chelators used in Chelation Therapy, including D-Penicillamine, Dimercapto-Propane-Sulphonic Acid (DMSA), and Deferoxamine (DFO).

Currently, the most widely used and accepted chelating agent is Ethylenediamine Tetraacetic Acid (EDTA), a synthetic amino acid compound. EDTA is a long-chain synthetic amino acid that is not absorbed into the cells during Chelation Therapy.

EDTA is excreted through the urine and binds to heavy metal molecules in the body, carrying them out safely. The EDTA molecule itself does not harm the body, making it the most beneficial agent used in intravenous (IV) Chelation Therapy.

Benefits of Chelation Therapy

• Helps effectively remove calcium deposits and heavy metals accumulated inside blood vessels, improving blood circulation. This is a major factor in preventing high blood pressure, ischemic heart disease, and reducing blockages in blood vessels of the brain and heart.
• Reduces skin inflammation and decreases the production of free radicals, which are causes of premature aging.
• Improves lung function and lowers the risk of cancer.
• Enhances mental clarity, improves memory, and alleviates symptoms of Alzheimer’s disease.

How often should detoxification and heavy metal removal be done?

  • Treatments can be done as frequently as every 1–2 weeks, depending on the amount of toxins and individual condition.
  • The frequency of IV Drip Chelation Therapy depends on the accumulated toxin levels and each person’s needs. Some people may feel refreshed after just three sessions.

Chelation Therapy is suitable for everyone, especially:

Preparation Before Undergoing Chelation Therapy

Before starting Chelation Therapy, the doctor will conduct an initial health assessment. This includes a thorough physical examination and blood tests to evaluate kidney function and electrolyte levels in the bloodstream.

Possible Symptoms After Chelation Therapy

Symptoms vary from person to person and usually resolve quickly on their own. Common side effects may include:

Oral Chelation DMSA : Dimercapto succinic acid

DMSA is a dithiol compound that can bind with positively charged metal ions such as mercury  (Hg²⁺), lead (Pb²⁺), arsenic (As³⁺), and cadmium (Cd²⁺). Once bound to DMSA, these heavy metals are eliminated from the body through urine. DMSA treatment for heavy metal poisoning not only helps remove mercury from the blood, liver, and kidneys but can also eliminate toxins accumulated even in the brain.

Advantages of DMSA

Unlike other chelators that require intravenous injection, one key advantage of DMSA is its water solubility and oral administration, making it easy to use and effective.
DMSA is available as a dietary supplement; however, it should be used with caution and only under the guidance of a healthcare professional.
Dosage depends on individual needs and medical advice. Complete detoxification may take up to 2 to 3 years, depending on the amount of toxins and the patient’s health condition. Nevertheless, taking DMSA orally is considered one of the safest and most effective methods.
